On the morning of Friday, March 1, 2013, Brandon Robert McNett of Canton passed away suddenly as the result of a tragic motor vehicle accident. He was 17 years of age, and a senior at Canton Area High School. Born in Wellsboro on June 28, 1995 he was the son of Richard and Jill (Yaggie) McNett.

Brandon was an industrious, energetic and focused young man with a strong work ethic and sense of commitment. He was regarded by his teachers as being an outstanding student and participant in classroom activities. He attended the Northern Tier Career Center and was enrolled in the building construction curriculum. For his senior project he helped construct the office at Shelly's Notary in Canton. After school and on weekends Brandon also worked at the neighboring McMurray farm in Canton Township. Skilled in the use of rifle, bow and rod, Brandon enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time, rarely letting the opportunity to indulge pass by. With his warm smile, friendly demeanor and great sense of humor, Brandon was loved by all who knew him. The countless people who were touched by his young life will cherish his memory forever.

Brandon is survived by his father Richard (Shelly) McNett of Canton and his mother Jill (Tim) Brueilly of Mansfield; brothers Brian Yaggie of Covington, Cory Route of Alba and Colby Route of Canton; grandparents Francis and Beverly McNett, Andrew and Patty Yaggie and Verne and Barb Spencer; great-grandfather Andrew Yaggie Sr.; great-grandparents Frank and Luella Campbell; aunts and uncles Greg (Crystal) Yaggie, Mandy (Travis) Pepper, Andrew (Renee) Yaggie, III, Michelle (Martin) McNett, Rebecca (Brandon) Williams and Tamara Roupp; and special cousins Brittany Breese, Brady McNett, Tyler Williams, Kaley Williams, Levi Pepper, Alyssa Pepper, Grant Pepper, Shyanna Yaggie and Sierra Yaggie. He was preceded in death by uncles Robert McNett, Frank Mott, Dean McNett and Kenneth McNett, and great-grandfather Francis McNett Sr.

Calling hours will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 6 at the Nelle Black Westgate Auditorium of Canton Area High School. Service will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Duane Taylor officiating. Interment will be in the McNett Cemetery. Professional services have been entrusted to Morse and Kleese Funeral Home, Canton.
