Russell W. Vanderpool Sr., 79, of 70 Bridge St. Ulster, Pa., passed away Friday afternoon, May 20, 2016 at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Pa. Russell was born June 29, 1936 in Towanda, Pa., the son of Flander and Harriett Everson Vanderpool.
He is survived by his sons, Russell W. Vanderpool Jr. and Dale Vanderpool; daughters, Joanie Shaffer, Shirley McCormick and Linda Vanderpool; brother, Kenneth Vanderpool; sister, Ruth Vanderpool; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ernestine A. Vanderpool on July 1, 1983, and brothers, Merle, Ronald and Gerald Vanderpool.
A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Bowen-Farr Funeral Home of Ulster, Pa., is assisting Russell's Family with arrangements. Memories and condolences may be expressed by visiting www.bowenfuneralhomes.com.
