Norwich - Everett F. Jewell, 80, of 576 Laurel Hill Road, died Sunday afternoon, Nov. 4, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Milford, Mass., on June 30, 1932, the son of the late Emer and Florence (McGuiness) Jewell. Everett was employed for 28 years as a insurance agent for AAA in East Hartford before retiring in 1994. He was previously employed as a Fuller Brush representative. After his retirement, he drove limousines for Foxwoods Casino for 10 years. He was a member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick in Norwich, a former member of the Norwich Lodge of Elks # 430, and a former member of the Knights of Columbus White Cross Council in Norwich.
On May 4, 1952, he married Shirley (LeBeau) Jewell in Providence; she survives him.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Mark L. Jewell of New London, Atty. Michael E. Jewell and his wife, Donna, of Norwich, and Atty. Patrick E. Jewell and his wife, Kathy, of Atlanta, Ga.; a daughter, Linda J. Stefan and her husband, Gerald, of Hanover; eight grandchildren, Michael E. Jewell Jr. and his wife, Casey, Sara L. Fusco and her husband, Mark, Eric D. Stefon and his wife, Tomoe, Matthew J. Jewell, Laura J. Stefon, Adam L. Stefon and his wife, Adriana, Lauren S. Jewell, and Olivia S. Jewell; six great-grandchildren, Nicholas M. Jewell, Angela H. Jewell, Lucas S. Jewell, Alexander M. Fusco, Nina L. Fusco, and Yusuke S. Stefon; and nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Church in Taftville, meeting directly at the church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Guillot Funeral Home, 75 South B. St., Taftville.
