Heather Dillenbeck

Old Lyme - Heather (Wright) Dillenbeck, 72, of Old Lyme, died suddenly on June 11, 2014.

Heather was born on Feb. 5, 1942, in Toronto, Canada. She was predeceased by her parents, Adeline Gibson Hess and Arnauld Leonard Wright, who received the OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) for service in the Canadian Army in World War II.

She held a bachelor of arts degree from Stanford and a master of arts degree from Yale, both in economics. She was a certified financial analyst and retired as a senior vice president and senior economist after 25 years with US Trust. She also worked for the Cost of Living Council in Washington and the Federal Reserve Bank in San Francisco. She was active in a number of professional groups, in which she served several times as an officer.

Heather leaves her husband of 32 years, Richard Dillenbeck of Old Lyme; daughter, Carolyn Wright Dillenbeck; grandchildren, Quinn and Dante Liggio of Boston; and sister, Rosemary Wright of Chatham, N.J. She also leaves several stepchildren.

Heather moved to Old Lyme in 2001 from Summit, N.J., shortly after retiring from US Trust. She spent the intervening years traveling, gardening, reading, golfing, and painting. She was an active member of St. Ann's Episcopal Church in Old Lyme, where she was treasurer and a vestry member for a number of years.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 16, at St. Ann's Episcopal Church.
