Waterford - Kenneth C. Cluff, 88, of 116 Oil Mill Road, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 18, 1925, in Bowsman, Manitoba, Canada, the son of the late Frank and Elsie Cluff. A veteran of World War II
, he served in the Royal Canadian Navy. He was an owner and operator of Cluff Carpet One, retiring in 1986.
Ken was well known for his commitment to his family, his friends, and to his customers. His favorite past time was fishing. He especially loved his long trips to Canada's finest lakes with his sons.
Mr. Cluff was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Donna M. (Brown) Cluff.
He is survived by his two sons, Gregory Cluff and his fiancÃ©, Pamela Bandi, of Waterford, and Brian Cluff and his wife, Sharon, of Waterford; two brothers, Norman Cluff of Alabama and Bernard Cluff of Manitoba, Canada; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Trudy Cluff.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Ave., New London. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Avenue, New London. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Broad Street, New London.
