Mildred Arnott

East Lyme - Mildred Kelly Arnott, passed away June 9, 2014, with her family by her side in Niantic.

She was born on Nov. 18, 1917, in New York, N.Y., to the late Agnes and Augustus Miller.

She was predeceased by her first husband, James and her second husband, Gordon; her sisters, Evelyn Hampton and Edith Seiwert; and her brother, Herbert Miller.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Murphy and her husband, Mark, of Lyme; as well as her two grandchildren, William and Colleen Murphy. She is also survived by her two nephews, Thomas Hampton of Torrington, and Richard Miller of Lyme.

Mildred was married to James Kelly for 35 years. Together they raised their daughter, farmed, built three homes, and were devoted Catholics.

She was remarried in 1997, to Gordon Arnott. They were married 11 years and traveled extensively.

Mildred will be remembered by all as a person who loved her family, lived life to the fullest, and always found the joy in it.

To honor Mildred's wishes, services will be at the convenience of the family.
