Montville - Paul Joseph Hann, 65, of Oakdale, entered eternal life on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, in the comfort of his home, while surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Sept. 30, 1948, in New London, son of the late Joseph and Theresa Hann. He attended local schools and was a graduate of New London High School's Class of 1967. He was a gifted athlete and played football for New London High School. He later attended Tyler College in Texas and had a passion for history.
Paul returned to New London where he worked at Electric Boat. He married his beloved wife Rose on March 29, 1969 at St. Paul Church. He was then drafted during the Vietnam War
and served in the U.S. Navy
from 1969-1973 and was honorably discharged.
Mr. Hann was employed at Electric Boat for 40 years and recently retired in February of this year. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Besides his beloved wife Rose of 45 years, he is survived by two daughters, Anissa Pellegrino of Branford and Cara Pavelko of East Haven; three grandchildren, Sophia and Stella Gentile, and Leila Pavelko; beloved nephew, Wayne Vendetto; and three sisters, Mary Vendetto, Kathy Alquest and Pat Calcagni.
He was predeceased by his youngest sister, Jean (Hann) Rogers.
His family will receive relatives and friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. Guests are invited to gather for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Monday, in St. Joseph Church, 17 Squire St., New London. Interment is private.
