North Stonington - Rose Jean Berg, 90, of North Stonington, died on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at her home.
On Aug. 1, 1922, she was born in Norwich, the daughter of Stephen and Anna (Szalankiewicz) Bohara. She was the loving wife of Eric H. Berg Sr. They were married at St. Joseph Church on May 30, 1942 and were married for fifty-five years until his death on Dec. 12, 1997.
As a resident of North Stonington, she was actively involved in town politics for many years having served on the Republican Town Committee, the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Nursing Board as well as being a Justice of the Peace. She was also a member of the North Stonington Grange and North Stonington Historical Society and a faithful parishioner of St. Thomas More Church.
She was a hardworking, honest person who was always willing to help. She will be greatly missed.

Rose is survived by her son, Eric H. Berg Jr. and wife, Marlyn, of North Stonington; daughter, Cheree Miner and husband, Robert, of North Stonington; three grandsons, Eric John Berg, Evan Berg and Jason Miner, all of North Stonington; sister, Barbara Wheelock of Hagerstown, Md.; brother, Richard Bohara of Norwich; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by four brothers, Joseph, John, Robert and Chester Bohara; and two sisters, Nellie Piascik and Mary Klingman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Thomas More Church, 87 Mystic Road, North Stonington. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Norwich. There are no calling hours.
Donations in her memory may be made to St. Thomas More Church.
