Waterford - Jerden A. Bishop, 76, of Quaker Hill, died peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Wednesday, April 6, 2016.

He was born in Norfolk, Va., on Nov. 4, 1939, to the late William and Doria (Peek) Bishop. On Aug. 19, 1960 he married his beloved wife, Sandrea (Call) in Kittery, Maine.

A very good friend, I always enjoyed our conversations about the going to sea. Jerry was great help to me and the folks in the Records & Services Section of FHEO (Production) when I work with him and Jan on the first Event Reporting System. I enjoyed so much going to Montville Station because of the feeling of being appreciated by Jerry and his staff. Smooth sailing my friend.

We are eternally grateful to Jerry for being the most amazing father-in-law that our daughter Amy could have ever hoped to have. He taught her crafts, independence, humor, good times, and love. During her formative years in early marriage, Jerry was a patient force, tirelessly encouraging adventure and skill learning. May he rest in the peace that he instilled in others !
