Walter Main Obituary
He was born in Ledyard, on April 24, 1931, the son of Erastus and Lottie (Fish) Main. He was the husband of Joann (Slater) Main who predeceased him. Mr. Main was retired, last working for the Town of Preston Department of Public Works. He had also been a chef at the former Arcade on Bank Street in New London; and had also been a chef at the Enlisted Men's Club at the Submarine Base in Groton.
He is survived by a son, Daniel Main; a sister, Shirley Main; and his companion, Sylvia Chaplinski.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Ave., New London. Interment will follow in Preston City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 169 Old Colchester Road, Quaker Hill, CT 06375.
