Alice Petrini Obituary
She was born Sept. 19, 1923, in New London, the daughter of the late Duilio and Zenaide (Bevilacqua) Luzi. She attended local schools and graduated from the former Chapman Technical High School Class of 1942. She was united in marriage to Arthur "Tootsie" Petrini on Nov. 12, 1949 in New London, who survives her. Mrs. Petrini was employed at the former Naval Underwater System Center in New London, retiring in 1987. Alice was a wonderful cook preparing traditional Italian meals. Especially for family and friends on Thursday nights, Sunday dinner and Christmas Eve. She was a gifted seamstress making gowns and other clothing for family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, noni and big noni.
Besides her husband of 64 years, she is survived by her children and spouses, Janice and Robert DelPaine, Joyce and George Overton, Kenneth and Sara Petrini, Arthur and Sylvia Petrini. Grandchildren, Robert and Kristen DelPaine, Alyson and John Michael Woznicki, Anthony DelPairie, Corey and Jesse Overton, Casey and Jessica Petrini, Jason and Jill Overton; and seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jacqueline Flanagan.
She was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Luzi.
Her family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, at the Impellitteri-malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London., followed by a Mas of Christian Burial at noon, in St. Joseph Church, 17 Squire St. New London. Interment will be in Jordan Cemetery, Waterford.
Donations in her memory may be made to Center for Hospice Care Southeastern Connecticut, 227 Dunham St., Norwich, CT 06360 or Bayview Resident Council Fund, 301 Rope Ferry Road, Waterford, CT 06385.
The family would like to thank Bayview Health Care and Hospice Staff for the excellent care of our wife and mother.

Tootsie and family I recently returned to Ct for the Holidays and with a heavy heat heard of your loss. During the period when I was a part of such a wonderful family all of you especially Alice made me feel like family. I will remember the family dinners and
gatherings and they have always stayed in my memories. Since that time I know there have been many more wonderful events you all shared. I hope that those memories and events bring you all some comfort and peace during this difficult time. My sincere condolences.

Alice was such a warm, lovely person who was devoted to her family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. I know your memories will bring you comfort, as will the assurance of being united with her, someday, in Heaven.

I worked with Alice for many years and ate at her house when she cooked big dinners for the holidays. I have nothing to fond memories of Alice. God Bless. Laura Griffin
