Blanche Darrow Obituary
She was born June 7, 1947, in Norwich, the daughter of Lorenzo and Evelyn (Frizzell) Lamoureux. She was the wife of Robert Darrow, whom she married on July 19, 1969 in Norwich. She was employed for 35 years at Connecticut College in dining services.
In addition to her husband, Robert, she is survived by a son, John Darrow and his companion, Amy Wian, of Jacksonville, N.C.; a daughter, Lorie Darrow and her husband, Mark Schenher, of Tolland; two grandchildren, Kurt and Troy Schenher of Tolland; and two sisters, Phyllis Poorman of Norwich, and Lorraine Johnson of Wallingford.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Ave., New London. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Old Norwich Road, Quaker Hill. Interment will be private.

Dear Lori, I'm so very sad for your loss of your mother. May the Lord give you and your family peace, comfort and acceptance during this time of loss. "BUT ONLY ONE MOTHER-Most of all the other beautiful things in life come by twos and threes, by dozens and hundreds. Plenty of roses, stars, sunsets, rainbows, bros. and sisters, aunts and cousins, BUT ONLY ONE MOTHER IN THE WHOLE WORLD. I will miss your mother's sunny disposition each time I saw and spoke w/her at Shop Rite.

Mother Teresa said “We cannot do great things on this Earth, only small things with great love” & I think she speaks of our Blanche.
Blanche had an infectious laugh and compassionate heart. Tireless, always willing to help a friend or animal in need she didn't waste a day but embraced each and every one. Her thoughtful & kind example is one to be thankful for; one to emulate.
Blanche spoke often of her family & their travels; her church & friends and we knew she loved them all dearly. She tenderly held close all hearts she embraced. We will miss her.
