Carl Dennis Obituary
Born in Westerly, he was the son of Maynard and Carol (Williams) Dennis of Mystic and was a lifelong resident of Groton. Carl was a member of the Old Mystic Fire Department for 20 years and currently served on the board of directors. He was employed with the Arwood Corp. in Groton for many years.
He enjoyed spending his time outdoors fishing and barbecuing with family and friends. Carl was an animal lover who routinely would rescue stray dogs and cats. He was also a Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.
In addition to his parents, he leaves a sister, Kathy Lewis of Groton; brother, Michael Dennis of Branford.; and his longtime girlfriend, Demetria Cartier of Groton. He also leaves his niece, Dominique Chojnowski.
His family will receive friends at noon Saturday, April 27, followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. at the Mystic Funeral Home, Route 1, Mystic. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA (www.aspca.org).
