Constance Perritt

New London - Constance (Ash) Perritt, 85, of New London, died Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at Bayview in Waterford.

She was born in Putnam, Sept. 13, 1928, the daughter of Norman and Margaret (Frasier) Ash. She was the widow of Reginald Perritt whom she married Jan. 20, 1951 in Hebron. He predeceased her on Nov. 20, 1991.

Mrs. Perritt was a graduate of the Joseph Lawrence School of Nursing, Class of 1949, and was the vice president of her class. She retired from Lawrence + Memorial Hospital after 26 years as an operating room nurse.

She is survived by four sons, Robert and his wife, Suzan, of Groton, Richard of Niantic, William of Florida and John of New London; one daughter, Margaret Genung of Waterford; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a brother, Norman Ash, Jr.

Prior to her brief stay at Bayview she resided at Bacon and Hinkley Home in New London, fulfilling a lifelong desire to stay there. Our family wishes to thank Brenda and the staff for a comfortable five years residency in "the best room" as mom called it.

The family would also like to thank the staff at Bayview for the excellent care Connie received. The compassion and the support given to both Connie and her family during her last days helped make Connie's transition into her next journey a little easier. Thank you all; everyone made a difference and it did not go unnoticed.
