Edwin Johnson Obituary
Edwin "Tommy" was born Sept. 26, 195, in Grace New Haven Hospital, the son of Rosa (Lacey) Johnson and Otis E. "Cookie" Johnson.
He was employed at Electric Boat Company in New London. Edwin enjoyed a passion for sports, particularly boxing and he was an enthusiastic jazz fan. Edwin was a New York kind of guy, both culturally and entertainment. He was a beloved New York Knick, Giant and Yankee fan.
Edwin loved and cherished his children, daughter, Fallan (John) Carrillo of McKinney, Texas; sons, Shareef and Mustafa Johnson, both of New London, Aaron Christopher Josey, Atlanta, Ga.; and a brother, Otis E. Johnson Jr. of New Haven. In addition he has to two lovely grandchildren, Jaylan and Janice Carillo of McKinney, Texas.
On Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, Edwin was honored by a Muslim service at the Islamic Center of New London and was buried in the Islamic Cemetery in Enfield.
The family asks that you keep his children in your hearts and prayers.
