Emilien Myette Obituary
Born in Woonsocket, R.I., he was the son of the late Ovide J. Myette Sr. and Lydia (Letendre) Myette and lived in Ledyard since 1962. He was a machinist from Monsanto Co. in Stonington, retiring in 1990, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, honorably discharged in 1946.
Lefty was an avid hockey and baseball player in his earlier years. He also enjoyed fishing, especially catching tautog. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
In addition to his wife, he leaves five children, Simone Yatto and her husband, Richard, of Crofton, Md., Roger Myette of Ledyard, Edward Myette of Colchester, Denis Myette of Warwick, R.I. and Monique Keefe and her husband, Robert, of Hanover, Pa.; sister, Jacqueline Blanchette and her husband, Jean, of Palm Springs, Calif.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a sister-in-law, Rita Myette of Bristol, R.I.
He was predeceased by a brother, Ovide J. Myette Jr.
His family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the Mystic Funeral Home, Route 1 (51 Williams Ave.), Mystic. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, at St. Patrick Church, 32 East Main St., Mystic. Entombment with full military honors will be held at 1 p.m., at the Precious Blood Cemetery, Rathbun Street, Woonsocket, R.I.

Heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the Myette family from the Galligan family. Love, Jack & Irene G., Mike & Betty G., and Linda, Mark, Dylan and James Joseph. My best remembrance of Lefty was from one of the family reunions we had at Denny's place - he was quite the character and loved the singing!

Very sorry for the loss. I can remember like it was yesterday playing ice hockey on the pond, how enjoyable the family gatherings used to be, and listening to my dad and uncle reminiscing of old times. Uncle Emile will be dearly missed. Sincerely, Michel Myette

"Grandpa Connecticut" as the grandchildren called him will be sorely missed. He was a man of many stories. It was always special going up to Connecticut to visit because I knew there was six boxes of ice cream in the freezer he got on sale. I love you grandpa and will miss you dearly. Thank you for all the stories as I will hold onto them forever.

Lefty was a great friend and co-worker from the Monsanto "family". Listening to his stories was like sitting there with an Uncle. He will be sorely missed.
