I am just seeing this and I am sorry to hear of your loss. My mom, Betty Ivy, used to talk very fondly of George and Elaine Adams. Saying prayers for strength and peace.

I am sad to learn that Uncle George had passed. He was the best of the USN's best and a fantastic person to have known. He made all who knew him feel the world was a better place because he was part of it. He will be sorely missed and our hearts go out to Aunt Elaine, Mark and Mathew.

Our deepest sympathies to Elaine and his sons. Job well done, Chief--may you have fair skies and smooth seas on your vogage to your well-earned reward to be with the Supreme Admiral. He will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew him.

It was always a pleasure to have George come to the Naval Underwater Sound Lab and repair our typewriters. George was friendly and always efficient. It was my job to schedule repairs and replacement of typewriters at NUSL. Working with Goerge was always a pleasure. Godfrey Business Machines did work for us until the laboratory moved to Newport RI. Please accept my condolences.

Years ago, when I worked at an office in Mystic, CT, I remember George coming by to repair our typewriters. He not only often made the repairs on the spot but he brightened our day just by coming in. A wonderful man. Thank you for sharing him with all of us.

George was a wonderful man. His love and devotion to his dear wife Elaine was for all to see. He was a loving family man who worshiped all his children. I only know Mark and Matt with whom he enjoyed a very close relationship - he was so proud of them. I will miss my visits with George and Elaine, especially the Navy stories that George entertained me with. When next I visit Elaine, sitting in her living room sipping a cup of coffee, I know George will be sitting in his favorite blue chair next to the fireplace sharing our visit. Elaine and her family are so lucky to have had such a wonderful husband and father in their lives. With all our love we send our heartfelt condolences to Elaine and her family. Sincerely Bev & Pete Herstein
