Harold Kennedy Obituary

Groton - Harold "Rusty" Albert Kennedy Jr., 71, of Groton, passed away on Sept. 29, 2013, after a brief illness at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London.

Rusty was born on May 29, 1942, in Rochester, N.Y. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Carlene; his son, Tad A. Kennedy and wife, Jill Arters Kennedy; his daughter, Sarah Kennedy Pinkowski and husband, Hank Pinkowski, of Spencer, Mass.; grandchildren, Ryan Stokes, Colin Kennedy, Alex and Chris Pinkowski; sister, Connie Holtz and husband, Art, of Avon, N.Y.; nephew, Tim Holtz and niece, Lisa Holtz, also of Avon.

He was a talented outdoorsman and advocate of nature preservation.

Private memorial will be held at a later date.
