Jennifer Giroux Obituary

Citrus Springs, Fla. - Jennifer (Holmes) Giroux, 67, of Citrus Springs, Fla., passed away on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, after a lengthy illness.

She was born on Aug. 21, 1946, in Norwich, England, to Alfred and Ivy (Jenson) Holmes. She was a longtime resident of Uncasville. Jennifer loved to garden and loved her three cats. She also loved to feed and watch the birds and squirrels in her yard.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur Giroux; daughters, Carolyn Olczak of Stonington, Katherine Giroux of Boston, and Rosemarie Cartier of Uncasville; three grandchildren; and her sister, Carol Eaton of Ben Lomand, Calif.

Services will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Hospice of Citrus County, PO Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464.

To Uncle Art and my cousins, words honestly cannot express my sympathies to you. Nothing I can say can take away the pain of your loss..Auntie Jen was a wonderful person and so much fun to be around. I still remember when she would have me over the house in Connecticut. For the short time I lived up there she really showed me the beauty and the fun that could be had there. I have fond memories of going to Block Island with her, seeing snow for the first time at her house and I always thought it was so cool that she was from England. I just wish that I could have been as close to her in my more mature years as I was in my younger years. I love her very much and always remember when the pain gets to much to bare that she is always with you. She is like the wind, you may not see it but you can feel it. I love you guys very much!

I am so for your loss. I read Jennifer's obituary in the New London Day this morning, so sad! She is finally at peace and the suffering is over for her, but not her family. You and Jenn had a long life together and I sure there a many wonderful moments you can reflect on. Jennifer was always kind to me and I will always remember her for that. If there is anything I can do for you or the girls please call me, and please stop in and see me the next time you are in Connecticut .
