Joseph Pendleton Obituary
Joe was born on May 16, 1953, in Westerly, the son of Joseph and Shirley (Regester) Pendleton.
He married the love of his life, Dawn P. Hightower on June 15, 1974, in Waterford, and for almost 39 years they enjoyed a beautiful marriage. Joe loved his siblings very much: sister, Janet Kenyon and husband, Reggi, brother, Michael Pendleton and wife, Regina, sister, Kathleen Woodford and husband, Brian, and brother, Timothy Pendleton and wife, Donna, and children. Joe was especially fond of his two children, Luke J. Pendleton and April S. Baker, as well as April's husband, Phillip, and their baby-Joe's pride and joy, grandson, Connor. He loved and was loved by many other relatives and friends.
Joseph was motivated by his deep love for Jehovah God, and was an active member in the New London Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was never shy in talking to others about his God, Jehovah. He knew and believed in the promises God made about the resurrection. We can be confident we will see Joe again.
The Memorial Service for Joseph Pendleton, beloved husband, son, brother, father and grandfather, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 170 Flanders Road, Mystic. The location for a get-together for refreshments following the memorial service will be announced at the Kingdom Hall.
Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, New London, is handling the arrangements.

Dawn, words can not express the heartache we feel for you and your family. You and Joe are lovely people and we adore you so much. Joe's faithful service to Jehovah is a testament to his friendship with Jehovah and a wonderful example for us all. We are so grateful for his presence in our lives and eager to see him soon.

Dawn, April & Luke - we are so, so sorry for your lose. Joe was such a sweetheart. We have some fond memories of Joe's loving concern for others in the ministry and being recipients of his check-in phone calls. He was genuinely a kind sweet person. He will be greatly missed.

Thank you so much for the pictures of Joe and you and the family, Dawn. I really loved Joe a lot, he always always said something nice to me every time I saw him and I truly look forward to seeing him in the resurrection and seeing him healthy again, full of life and with so much to look forward to. It was hard to think of how sick he was getting and know it was hard on the family at times. Joe really loved his two wonderful children, April and Luke. He was so proud of how Luke had progressed over the years and he told me he wrote him all the time. And I am glad he got to see his first grandchild as well. I pray for you Dawn, it is not easy to have your life change so much! But you are strong and with Jehovah, you will keep going, he has you in his "hand", do not let go of it! Dear Dawn, Luke, April, Phil and Connor- I'm so sorry for your loss. Joe was such a kind man, and he loved you all so much. I have so many memories of him telling me jokes and laughing. He always asked me how I was doing. He always called me Corrina. I really loved that. It was always easy to see how much Joe loved you Dawn. I don't ever remember him calling you Dawn, it was always "Hun" or "Dawnie". And he was so proud of both Luke and April. Always remember how much we love him, and how much Jehovah loves him. I look forward to when you will be together again, when there is no more sickness or pain, and these sad feelings are gone. That is going to be a wonderful day.

Dear Dawn, Luke, April, Phil and Connor, We are so sorry for your loss. We loved Joe so much. He was such a sweet, sincere person who was always thinking of others.
