Kenneth Churchill Obituary

Waterford - Kenneth Lincoln Churchill, 89, of Quaker Hill, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at the Groton Regency.

He was born in New London, on Nov. 4, 1924, to the late Lincoln and Hilda (Bancroft) Churchill. After graduating Chapman Technical High School in New London and learning his trade as an electrician, he began working for Electric Boat in Groton where he was one of a group of electricians who worked on the USS Nautilus. After leaving EB in 1954, he was employed by Connecticut College and retired in 1986.

In 1969, he married Marie Jean Doyle in Montville, who survives him.

He was a member of the Masons for 50 years.

Besides his wife, Jean, he is survived by his daughter, Barbara Lynn Loso (Scott); his sister, Patricia Churchill; granddaughter, Bonnie Jahns; grandson, Dietrich Jahns; his first wife, Betty Galor; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Leland, and two sisters, Marion and Beryl.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8, at Maplewood Cemetery, 182 Salem Tnpk., Norwich, where his grandparents, parents, and sister are buried. There are no calling hours.

Ken , Was a good man and a hard worker. It has been so long since I saw Ken and Jean but they were and always will be in my mind. I am sorry I had lost contact withthem over the past years . May he rest in peace---Bill Perkins
