Kerry Kunkel Obituary

Tonawanda, N.Y. - Kerry B. Kunkel, 67, of Tonawanda, formerly of Groton, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2013, at his residence.

He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., the son of Earl W. and June (Martin) Kunkel. Kerry was a retired long haul truck driver for Yellow Freight. He was an avid fisherman and Pittsburgh Steeler football fan.

Kerry is survived by his sisters, Judith Kunkel of Mystic, and Suzanne Buczkowski and her husband, Bob, of Groton; his nephew, Rob Buczkowski and his wife, Christine; his nieces, Michele Hurley and her husband, Michael and Beth Molina and her husband, Luis. He is also survived by his great-nephew, Alexander; and his great-nieces, Abigail, Hannah, Madelyn and Rebecca.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, at the Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames St., Groton. Interment in Colonel Ledyard Cemetery will be private. Visiting hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 11.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be directed to the American Diabetes Association, 2080 Silas Deane Highway, 2nd Floor, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
