Michael Abdul Obituary
He was born Jan. 19, 1957, in Brooklyn, N.Y., son of Michael M. Abdul Sr. and Sadia Lillian Shabarekh, and raised in Staten Island, N.Y. one of seven children.
Everyone who knew him, couldn't help liking him, he was always there with a helping hand. Growing up in Staten Island, he attended P.S. 14 and Curtis High School. He loved playing Little League baseball. He was a top team player in the East Shore League, Staten Island. Being a wanderer, he decided to see the country and he did. He talked mostly of the time spent being a guard in the Nevada gold fields until he finally settled in Ohio, where he raised his family and was his own businessman, he was Mac A Doo Painter and also loved to tinker with cars.
Well, now he is taking time off and will be in heaven building his mansion.
He is survived by his children, Laurie Bradon and husband, David, Lisa Abdul and her son, Landon; and step-daughter, Angela and her two sons and one daughter. Sisters, Michele Mathews of Groton, and Sadia Wakel of Indiana and her children, Evelyn Rolon, Gena Rolon, William Roy Jr., Sadia M. Roy, Adam Roy, and Michele Abdul and her daughter, Haily, and Alison Abdul; brothers, Louise C. Abdul of New London and his children, Louis. P. Jr., Peter, Joseph, and Linda Abdul, Andrew Abdul of Staten Island, N.Y., Master Sgt. Adam Abdul of Illinois, and David Abdul of New London. Nephew, Carmine Penza Jr. (Kristen) and children, Alexander and Kathy N., and Alan Schwartz Jr.; and niece, Malisa Tate (Jarrade) and children, Jarrade Jr., Jalissa and Jamel.
Visiting hours will be from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, in St. Mary Cemetery, meeting directly at the cemetery. Everyone is welcome.
