Randal Jacques Obituary
On July 17, 1969, he was born in Westerly, the son of Robert E. Jacques Sr. and Mary Lou (Crowe) Lacerte. Randy grew up in Rhode Island before moving to Connecticut in the late 1980s after accepting a job with General Dynamics Electric Boat Division, where he worked for 25 years and was currently working as a senior electrical designer.
He was the loving husband of April Heavenor Jacques, who he met one day while working out at Planet Fitness in Waterford. They were married on May 28, 2011, and were a wonderful example of what true love is supposed to be.
Randy was passionate about physical fitness and keeping in shape, and even competed in a body building competition several years ago. His true love, however, was motorcycles, especially his Harley-Davidson which he loved to ride. It was painted flat black just so that he could spend less time cleaning and more time riding it. His love of motorcycles led to his recent membership in the New London Motor Cycle Club.
In addition to his wife, April, mother, Mary Lou Crowe Lacerte, and father, Robert E. Jacques Sr., and step-mother, Kathy, he is survived by his children, Kari and Michael Jacques of North Stonington, and loving step-children, Nicole, Jessica, and PJ Heavenor of Uncasville; siblings, Robert Jacques Jr., Regina Grace, Justin Jacques, Allison Jacques, Joel Lacerte, Susan Romains, Stephanie Ballato, and Jeff Lacerte; and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at the Woyasz & Son Funeral Home, 11 Jerome Road, Uncasville. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery in Quaker Hill. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

At last Monday night's Hopkinton Town Council meeting I adjourned the council meeting in memory of Randy and others. The town's web site www.hopkintonri.org and You Tube www.youtube.com will have it at the end of the video for the August 5, 2013; meeting. It likely is not accessible yet? It has been years since I seen him although I see his Dad reasonably often. It has been many years since Randy lived on Church Street in Ashaway. I trust this "small gesture" will bring some comfort for the family.

Growing up with you was awesome! Ashaway Elementary School then Chariho. We had a blast! My oldest daughter came home last month from dinner and said, "mom, I met a guy tonight you grew up with." He came up to me and out of the blue said, "You must be Tracy Bailey's daughter!" I asked her who it was and she said Randy Jacques! I haven't smiled like that in a while! Dear April, Kari, Michael, Nicole, Jessica, PJ, and the entire Jacques Family,
I've never met Randy, but work with a couple of his friends, Ken Brevard and Kim Anderson, also members of our prayer circle, and who have both spoken quite highly of Randy. I have had this bereavement ministry for quite a number of years, including some time doing hospice work; plus, having lost both parents myself, I know, all too well, the feel of such very special loss!
Understanding the hole left behind, regardless the inevitability or forewarning, pray this helps some wee bit...to allow...enable…the grief! So truly sorry to hear about your husband, father, son, & friend. At least now he's at peace with our Lord…definitely keepin' y'all in my prayers!
When my mother died, even after a years-long battle with cancer, I was shattered by the loss…inconsolable…she was my mentor! I like to think that I got my character from my father, but my mind and its capacity from m'dear sainted mother!!! BUT, "If your faith assures you she's in heaven, then what are the tears all about?!?" I hold eternity dearly close...a cherished, hard-won prize...but, in the interim, that answer lies below.

I am so greatly saddened by the news of Randy's passing and in reading his guest book it is so evident to me that Randy has not changed that much in the so very many years since we have seen one another. April and me bumped into each other this winter at Chile's and I meet Randy for the first time to talk and traded some stories and good values, we hit it off right away both liking HD's.
I was empressed how much they loved each other and both so content, this accident never should have happened but we can't control life or the further.
Wish I had my camera that day when Randy had to have you dressed just right with all your leathers and helmet fit so right. Then you rode off on the HD night train back home.
One thing I have learned " LIFE IS FRAGLE " and we need to enjoy it everyday and as long as possible, because nothing stays the same.
April, you went thru many tragedies in life, but being such a strong person, with time you will get through this and you will always have great memories of Randy.

I've worked with him for 20 plus years at the boat, in the yard and up on the hill. we used to trade harley t-shirts and talk about bikes. he even let me take his bike for a spin at one of the softball games at washington park.
