Rose Donovan Obituary
She was the wife of the late Francis "Mickey" Donovan. Born in Westerly, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Dominica Scira.
Rose was a longtime communicant of St. Michael Church. She formerly had worked alongside of her husband at Mickey's Gulf in Pawcatuck for many years. Known for her homemade Italian cookies, she was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt.
Rose is survived by her son, Kenneth Donovan and his wife, Bebe, of Stonington; her daughter, Janice Donovan of Pawcatuck; and her sisters, Mary Riley and Susan Whitney, both of Ashaway, R.I. She will also be sadly missed by her grandson, Dr. Kenneth Donovan and his wife, Millie; two great-grandchildren, Christian and Taylor Donovan; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, in St. Mary's Church, 95 Main St., Stonington. There is no procession to church from the funeral home. Burial will take place at St. Michael Cemetery, Pawcatuck.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Home & Hospice of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904, in Rose's memory.

We lost a wonderful person. Rose and Mickey were both caring people to all of us who came to Pawcatuck from somewhere else. The garage was our first stop in the morning. Rose will be sadly missed. Our prayers to the family

Ken and Family,
