Rosemary Sandberg Obituary

Groton - Rosemary Adelaide Sandberg, 74, of 425 Drozdyk Dr., Groton, died Wed., Oct. 2, 2013, at the Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London.

She was born in the Bronx, N.Y., Jan. 14, 1939, the daughter of Joseph and Adelaide (Brady) Doherty. Rosemary was the wife of the late John Sandberg. Mrs. Sandberg had worked as a bookkeeper/computer operator for the Coca-Cola Company in New London for over 20 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Tracie Sandberg of Oakdale. Rosemary lived and travelled with Tracie while she was stationed with the Army in both Texas and Hawaii before they both moved back to Connecticut. She had unconditional love and support while battling MS with incredible strength for over 40 years.

An avid animal lover, Rosemary gave generously to the Connecticut Humane Society, and took in several rescue dogs. She particularly loved German Shepherds.

Funeral services are private at the request of the family.

I went to grammar school in Salem with Rosemary and her siblings. I reconnected with her when she was employed at a bank in Colchester.
