Stanley Jung Obituary

Groton - Stanley Jung, 60, of Brandegee Ave., died unexpectedly at home on Monday, June 3, 2013.

He was born and raised in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, N.Y., Oct. 21, 1952, the son of Mung and Chau Yung Jung. He graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School and from New York University, Washington Square campus. He was employed nearly forty years as a chemist at Pfizer in Groton before retiring in 2009.

He is survived by his twin brother, Robert Jung of Whittier, Calif.; three sisters, Elizabeth (Ernie) Jessup of Woodland Hills, Calif., Lillian (Jim) Wise of Prosper, Texas and Marie Jung of Sebastopol, Calif.; three nephews, David Jung, Eric Jessup and John (Emily) Wise; sister-in-law, Wai Oi Jung; two nieces, Shirley Jung and Joy (Ian) Engebretsen; and two great-nieces, Tia and Phaedra Engebretsen.

He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Shue Hung Jung; and his nephew, Eugene Jung.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, June 10, 2013, at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Ave., New London. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. There will be a calling hour from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday.
