Sylvio Viens Obituary
He was born Jan. 5, 1926, in Berlin, N.H., to the late Edward and Rose (Cloutier) Viens.
He married his loving wife, June J. (Whitcomb) Viens, May 17, 1949, in Lyndonville, Vt. She predeceased him in 1996.
He is survived by daughters, Marianne M. Hirst of Plainfield, Elaine F. Viens of Uncasville, Rose V. Langford and husband, Ken, of Valrico, Fla.; and his beloved dog, Sheba. He also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Three brothers predeceased him, Harley, Roger, and Raymond Viens, and son-in-law, Robert Hirst.
Sylvio was a heavy equipment operating engineer. He was also a proud U.S. Army veteran and a longstanding 32nd degree Mason and Shriner. He loved animals, nature, gardening, and fishing.
Sylvio's loving daughters will greet family and friends at 12 p.m. on Friday at Montville Funeral Home of Church and Allen, 63 Norwich New London Tpke., Uncasville. There will be a short funeral home service at 1 p.m. with burial following immediately afterwards at St. Patrick Cemetery in Uncasville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sylvio's honor to the Grand Masonic Lodge of Connecticut, 69 Masonic Ave., Wallingford, CT 06492.
