Tapin Burks Obituary
Tapin was born in Bangkok, Thailand, on June 19, 1957, the daughter of Oranuch Cimhouy and Pornpipat Pipatanobol. She moved to the United States in 1971.
Tapin graduated from Valley Regional High School in Deep River and received her bachelor's degree from Alburtus Magnus College in New Haven. Tapin was employed for over 30 years at Chesebrough Ponds/Unilever in Clinton and Trumbull. She was also employed part-time at Water's Edge Resort and Spa in Westbrook, where she worked for 22 years.
Tapin fought a valiant 11 year battle with breast cancer, and her courage was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Her daughters, Rebekah Doolittle of Waterford, Kristen Burks of Old Lyme; her husband, Kevin Burks of Niantic; and her mother, Oranuch Johnson and stepfather, Alfred Johnson of Matthews, N.C., survive her.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug.11, 2013, for Tapin at Water's Edge in Westbrook.

Dear Kristen...I am saddened to hear of the passing of your mother. She was a wonderful positive woman who I enjoyed passing time with many years ago when you were a girl scout. Please know that you, Dad and Mom will be remembered in my prayers, and that I am praying that you only have happy menories and a peaceful future.
