Vincent Greenough Obituary

New London - Vincent Greenough, 87, of 20 Konomoc St., New London, died Tuesday morning, Aug. 13, 2013, at his residence.

Vincent was born March 6, 1926, in Preston, Cuba, the son of Arthur and Edith (Hylton) Greenough. For many years he worked in building construction for the Barney Construction Co. working at Pfizer in Groton. He is a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He was married to Bobbie (Triplett) Greenough in New London in 1960.

In addition to his wife Bobbie, he is survived by a daughter, Valerie G. Swanson and her husband, Claude R. Swanson Jr., of Severn, Md.; two grandchildren, Courtney Swanson and Claude Swanson III of Severn, Md.; his brothers and sisters, Phyllis Greenough of North Haven, and George Greenough, Esther Delgado and her husband, Matias, Arthur Greenough and his wife, Mirelia, Cleveland Greenough and his wife, Jean, and Mario Greenough and his wife, Eunice, all of California; nieces, Norma Forte and Carol Greenough both of North Haven; a nephew, Charles Hilton and his wife, Angela of New London; his sister-in-law, Janet Triplett of Groton; and his nephew, Michael W. Triplett and his wife, Natasha, of Richmond, Va.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Myrtle Phillips and Ines Blyden.

Funeral services and burial will be private and there are no calling hours.

Byles Memorial Home, 99 Huntington St., New London, is assisting with the arrangements.

Dear Mrs Greenough and Valerie, My family and I lived across the street from you for the early part of my life. I remember playing with Valerie and the rest of the neighborhood kids. We lived @ 27 Konomoc St. We moved in 1970 or 71. I am so sorry for your loss. I remember your husband and father as a very nice man. May he Rest in Peace.
