Walter Scott Obituary
On Friday morning, Jan. 18, 2013, Walter went home to be with the Lord. Physical injury and life's pain no longer have him bound. The arms of the Lord have welcomed him home.
Walter Scott Jr. was predeceased by his father, Walter Scott.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Monique Scott; two sons, Walter L. Scott III (Trey) and Takhi G. Scott of Groton; his mother, Charlene Scott; brothers James and Lawrence Scott of New London; and sister Charlene Shelton of Massachusetts; uncles Ronald Gittens of Tacoma, Wash., James Gittens of Hartford, and Brian Dillard of New Jersey; aunts Marie Winston of New London, Valerie Smith, Iona and Sandra Evans; mother-in-law Juannette Woodley; father-in-law Ronald Sutton; brothers-in-law Sean and Ronnie Sutton of Groton; and sister-in-law Tammy Cruz of Florida; and a host of family and friends that mourn his passing.
Walter was a devoted father, with his sons being everything to him. Friday nights were family night that they all shared. Walter is at peace and resting from his labor.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at the Mount Moriah Fire Baptized Holiness Church, 22 Moore Ave., New London. A calling hour will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the start of the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the education fund for Walter's sons at Webster Bank, 654 Long Hill Road, Groton, CT 06340.
