Stonington - Arthur J. O'Neill, 87, beloved husband for 63 years to Esther (Turco) O'Neill, of West Vine St., Pawcatuck, passed away at his home on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012.

Born in Providence, R.I., he was the son of the late Arthur E. and Eleanor O'Neill. He lived his entire life in Pawcatuck, graduating from St. Michael School and Stonington High School.

Arthur was employed as a clerk with the U.S. Postal Service for 46 years until his retirement in 1990. He was a lifelong communicant of St. Michael Church and a member of the Calabrese Society, the St. Michael Holy Name Society and the Postal Workers' Union. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his sons, John and Vincent O'Neill, both of Pawcatuck; his daughters, Elinor Skoog of Andover, Teresa DeDominicis of Stonington, and Carol Brindle of Salt Lake City, Utah. He also leaves a sister, Agnes Nardone of Westerly; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Arthur was predeceased by a son, Kevin O'Neill; and a sister, Sister Eleanor O'Neill.

Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, in Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, in St. Mary Church, 95 Main St., Stonington. Burial with full military honors will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Pawcatuck.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to St. Michael Church, 60 Liberty St., Pawcatuck, CT 06379 in Arthur's memory.
