Norwich - Bertha J. Burdo, 93, died on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Villa Maria Nursing Home in Plainfield.|
She was born in Norwich, on Feb. 8, 1920, to the late John J. and Caroline (Michulec) Borowski.
She was married to Harold J. Burdo Sr., who predeceased her on Oct. 3, 1980.
Bertha is survived by her son, Harold J. Burdo Jr. (Jean) of Deer Isle, Maine; daughter, Barbara Burdo-Caron of Norwich; six grandchildren, Bethany Pryski (Mike) of Norwich, Susan Lewis (Steven) of Canterbury, Christopher Burdo (Cindy) of Norwich, Matthew Burdo (Dawn) of North Carolina, Dana Caron (Elinor) of Pennsylvania, Christopher Caron (Shirley) of Centerbrook; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph and Zigmund Borowski; sisters, Frances (Jacobs) Barbour and Adela Jakubielski; and son-in-law, Charles Caron.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave., Norwich, proceeding to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Norwichtown. Interment will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Norwich.
