Waterford - Cecelia (Bielak) Kitlenski, 91, of 5 Grabner Drive, Waterford, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013.|
Cecelia was born on Feb. 12, 1922, in Poland. When she was 18 years old, she moved to America.
Several years later, she met Henry W. Kitlenski at a dance in Connecticut. They were happily married for over 60 years until Henry passed away on Dec. 28, 2004.
An avid gardener, Cecelia took pride in her beautiful garden where many birds and butterflies came by to visit. She was also a fabulous cook and loved to feed and entertain family and friends during the holidays. Traveling and sewing were also among her many interests. She and Henry spent many winters in Ozona, Fla.
Cecelia is survived by her son, James Kitlenski of Waterford; her granddaughters, Jamie (Harrington) D'Asaro of New York City and Rachel Harrington of Brookline, Mass.; and her son-in-law, Timothy Harrington of Mystic.
Cecilia was predeceased by her daughter, Lorraine Harrington of Mystic, her parents, and four siblings.
Cecelia's family wishes to thank Elmire, Mary, and the VNA nurses for their help and excellent care during the last several years.
Services will be private and held on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. Entombment will take place at the St. Mary Cemetery Mausoleum.
