Obituary Condolences

Montville - We sadly announce the passing of Charles Q. Kent, 55, of Oakdale, on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012.

Charlie was born on April 4, 1957, to Oliver and Therese (Quinn) Kent, in Norwich. He attended Montville High School. Charlie was employed at the Submarine Base in Groton. He also enjoyed owning and operating excavation equipment.

Charlie enjoyed life to the fullest, his way. He had a love of the open road and was a spirited member of the Independent Riders Association Motorcycle Club, holding the title of Road Captain. He was most proud of his 1947 Indian Chief and 1969 LT-1 Corvette, which he drove conservatively through the surrounding towns of southeastern Connecticut.

He is survived by his parents of Montville; his loving sister, Maggie and her husband, Don, of Block Island; and many friends and relatives.

He was predeceased by his brother, Robert.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at St. John the Evangelist Church in Uncasville. Interment will follow Mass at Maplewood Cemetery in Norwich. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at the Cummings-Gagne Funeral Home, Norwich.
