Waterford - David C. Hall, 79, of Waterford, died peacefully, Thursday, July 5 2012, in his home

He was born in New London, June 28, 1933, the son of Pierce and Margaret Hall. David was the loving husband of Harriet (Lyon) Hall for 54 years. David worked at Electric Boat for 37 years; he was a member of the Metal Trade's Council before retiring in 1995. He served in the Army during the Korean war. He was a member of the Brainard Lodge AF and AM. David was also a lifetime member of the VFW. He enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and fishing.
In addition to his wife Harriet, he was the beloved father of Margaret Worobey and her husband, John Jr., Carol Ulmer and her husband, Mickey, of Herculaneum, Mo., Christopher Hall of Oakdale, Dan Hall of La Quinta, Calif., Linda Gitterman and her husband, Glen, of Meriden, and Barbara Grant and her husband, Kevin, of Norwich. He also enjoyed the company of his grandchildren, Nicholas, Natasha, and Anthony Ulmer, John III, and Laura Worobey, Garrett and Lauren Gitterman, and Julia and Connor Grant.
He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Hall of Gales Ferry
David's Family would like to express thanks and appreciation to the dedicated staff of Utopia who provided him with thoughtful and compassionate care.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 9, at Byles Memorial Home, 99 Huntington St., New London. Private burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery, Mystic.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in David's name may be made to a cancer foundation of the donor's choice.
