Diana was born in England on Dec 9, 1935 to Dr. Richard and Constance Swinglehurst. She was a 1953 graduate of the Paris Academy of Dressmaking in London, where she became an expert seamstress and designer, a craft she continued to pursue and explore her entire life. Her first husband, Michael T. Allen and second husband, William C. Stadtmiller, both predeceased her. Diana was a long time Inn-Keeper at the beautiful Steamboat Inn located in Mystic, CT. She considered the owners and co-workers of the Inn part of her extended family. She loved working with the public and took great pride in everything she did, down to the smallest detail. Diana was also affectionately known as ""Auntie Diner"" to the children of her nieces and nephews in England. One of her great joys was picking up little treasures throughout the year to send to England at Christmas. She enjoyed showering the people she loved with ""gifts of love"". Her face would light up with joy when she heard that her gifts of love had brought much happiness, smiles and laughter to the children. Diana (Mom) will be sorely missed by her family, friends, and all those touched by her grace. Go with the grace of God on the wings of angels Mom.
