Montville - Donald J. Baronowitz, 69, of Raymond Hill Road, Oakdale, husband of RoseAnn (Franchini) Baronowitz, died on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, after a long and courageous battle with emphysema.
The Guest Book is expired.
On Nov. 18, 1942, he was born in Philadelphia, Pa., the son of the late Louis and Annie (Levenstein) Baronowitz.
Don spent most of his career working in the casino industry. He worked for many years in Atlantic City, N.J., before coming to work at the Mohegan Sun Casino in 1996. He retired as a slot attendant supervisor in 2005, due to his health.
In his youth, Don was an excellent golfer with a passion for the game. He loved watching old movies and listening to Frank Sinatra. He loved to travel, especially taking cruises, going to Las Vegas, or spending time in the Caribbean. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #200.
For the past 21 years he had been a devoted husband to his wife, RoseAnn. He was a loving father to his sons, Robert Baronowitz and wife, Tina, and Charles Baronowitz, all of New Jersey; and was the proud grandfather of Johanna, Craig, Ryan, and Alec Baronowitz. He also loved his three "four-legged children", Zeffy, Monty, and Ben.
