Stonington - Dorothy Martha Shultis, 84, of Stonington, passed away on Wednesday, Nov.14, 2012.
The Guest Book is expired.
Dorothy was born on Nov. 27, 1927, in Harrison, N.Y., the daughter of Frank and Hertha Losito. She worked as a telephone operator for many years and then in retail businesses when she moved to Stonington in 1983.
Dorothy had a great smile and an infectious laugh; she also took great pride in the way she looked. Hair and nails always perfect. Her family, friends and acquaintances adored her. She was a great listener, adoring wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 66 years, Dean Decker Shultis; her two sons, Dean M. Shultis and his wife, Mary-Jo, of Groton, Roger D. Shultis and his wife, Susan, of Greenville, S.C. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, David D., Kevin N., Curtis D. Schultis, and Kim (Shultis) Smart; as well as two great-grandchildren, Devin and Trenton Shultis.
The family would like to acknowledge the entire staff at Groton Regency Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where Dorothy resided for three years. They all became part of her family and provided loving, expert care and comfort to her and Dean. We are all so grateful.
Burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
