Carolina, R.I. - Elizabeth "Betty" (LaCharite) Bagley, 75, of Old Shannock Road, Carolina, R.I., passed away at South County Hospital on Monday, Aug. 20, 2012. She was the beloved fiancÃ©e of Peter Crowell.|
Born in Montville, she was a daughter of the late Anthony J. and Helen LaCharite.
Betty was employed as a warping manager for Charbert's for many years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church and a member of the Legion of Mary. Most important to her was her family, and she enjoyed gardening, walking, and cooking.
In addition to her fiancÃ©, she leaves her children, Norman Gauthier and wife, Sally, of Oakdale, Joseph Gauthier of Montville, Robert Gauthier and wife, Connie, of Niantic, Laurence Bagley and wife, Laurie, of Charlotte, N.C., and Patricia White and husband, Brett, of Springfield, Va. She also leaves 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Betty was predeceased by a brother, Anthony LaCharite and a sister, Anita Cabral.
Visiting hours will be held on from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday in Our Lady of Victory Church, 169 Main St., Ashaway, R.I. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
