Elizabeth Ogle Obituary

Old Lyme - Elizabeth (Clark Davy) Ogle passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012.

She was born in East Lyme on April 18, 1919 the daughter of George J. and Bertha (Smith) Clark. She married William Ogle in Oct. 1973. She worked as a seamstress for Massa of Fifth Avenue and then as an occupational supervisor for the Connecticut State Farm and Prison. She was a member of the Old Lyme Congregational Church for over 50 years. During World War II she was the local recruiting officer for the Women's Land Army. She was Noble Grand of the Noble Rebecca Lodge, a member of the National Grange and the Lyme-Old Lyme Seniors.

Mrs. Ogle was predeceased by her parents; and step father, James Davy; her brothers, Myron Clark and Elwood Clark Davy.

She is survived by her husband, William; several cousins and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Friday, Jan. 27, in The First Congregational Church, Lyme St., Old Lyme.

In lieu of flowers, please remember the Old Lyme Visiting Nurses or Connecticut Hospice.

In compliance with her wishes, there are no visiting hours.

our memories of your elizabeth go back more than 40 years. the pond she allowed tom @ our children to skate. on, to the big white hourse everyone loved, including our dog, kate. elizabeth was a remarkable woman. we are sorry for your loss. sincerely tom bump and family.

Bill, I'm so sorry to here of Elizabeth's passing.She was a great lady and a good friend to all that knew her.I will miss that loving smile she always carried around with her.
