Montville - Elsie May Petrowski, 86, of 425 Drozdyk Drive, Groton, formerly of Montville, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at the Groton Regency.
She was born on April 24, 1926, in Montville, the daughter of Thomas and Katherine (Bellmark) Carroll. Elsie was married on April 19, 1947, in Montville, to Steven F. Petrowski. Mrs. Petrowski was a 1944 graduate of the former Williams Memorial Institute, now The Williams School in New London. She was also a very active member of the St. John's Church in Uncasville.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Patricia Davis of Montville, Kathleen Steamer and her husband, Barry, of East Lyme; three sons, Steven F. Jr., Jeffrey, Michael and his partner, Laurie Chapman; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She had also been predeceased by a sister, Colleen Carroll; and two brothers, James and Thomas Carroll Jr.
There will be a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at the St. John's Church, 22 Maple Ave., Uncasville. Her burial will follow in the St. Patrick's Cemetery in Montville. There are to be no visiting hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the VNA of Southeastern Connecticut, Inc., 403 N. Frontage Road, Waterford, CT 06385.
