Old Saybrook - Helen B. Shultz, 87, of Old Saybrook, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012.|
Helen was born in Heckla, Pa., on Nov. 10, 1925, to the late John and Mary (Lega) Bosnak.
Besides her parents, Helen was predeceased by her loving husband, Metro Shultz; sisters, Sonia Attanasio, Marie Maloney, Sue Falco; and brother, Pete Bosnak.
She is survived by daughter, Judy Sullivan and her husband, Dan, of Old Saybrook; sons, Robert Shultz and his wife, Beverly, of Hudson, N.H., John Shultz and his wife, Laraine, of Staten Island, N.Y., Richard Shultz of Westerly, and Mark Shultz and his wife, Martha, of Mequon, Wis.; brothers, John, George, and Joe Bosnak; grandchildren, Matthew Shultz and his wife, Sylvia, Ashley Shultz, John Shultz and his wife, Kerri, Jennifer Shultz, Christopher, Alex, and Sam Shultz, Nicholas and Kristen Shultz, Molly, Brendan, and Peter Sullivan; as well as several great-grandchildren.
For over forty years, Metro and Helen ran a successful retail business, Shultz's TV. Helen was the store's bookkeeper and receptionist. Remarkably, she somehow found the time and energy to lovingly raise five children. Life went on with the joy of twelve grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Our family wishes to acknowledge the Saybrook at Haddam Assisted Living Center, Haddam, for the exceptional care, sense of family and affection our mother experienced from the staff at their facility.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27 at St. John Catholic Church in Old Saybrook followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Westbrook.
