Pemberville, Ohio - The soul of Mrs. Henrietta (Chorzempa) Wilczynski returned to the Lord on Jan. 11, 2013. She was strong to the end in her mission to continue to share her life's values with her family and friends. Her strength was portrayed by her actions each and every day. Henrietta was the daily strength of her family, and along with her husband, Vince, raised a family of seven who then reached out to the world as a reflection of her to impact others in a positive manner as they were taught by Henrietta.
The Guest Book is expired.
Henrietta was born on Feb. 3, 1926, and early on in her life she made the choice and the life commitment to dedicate herself to her family, and she continued on this mission for 87 years, along with the help of Vince. She will long be remembered by friends and family through the reminders of her life that she left with us: the beautiful lamb cakes at Easter, her special chocolate chip cookies, the birthday cakes she made for everyone's birthday, and the many specially hand-crafted and sewn articles. Memories of Henrietta will be part of her family's and friends' lives forever.
She was a longtime member of St. Adalbert's parish and a more recent member of St. Jerome's parish in Walbridge, Ohio. She was a faithful follower of Christ's path and her guidance in this regard was unquestionable. She shared her love, respect, and honor for her God with her family, and for this reason alone, she is with our Lord and will continue to watch over and guide her family from her new position. In her last year and during the final weeks of her life, the angels at Otterbein Portage Valley and Odyssey Hospice provided loving care for Henrietta.
She was preceded in death by her youngest son, Larry; her parents, Karol and Agata (Chrostek) Chorzempa; and her brothers and sisters, Vincent Chorzempa, Helen Szyperski, Joseph Chorzempa, Florence Garwacki, William Chorzempa, Mary Marcinek, Janine Chorzempa, and Dolores Helminski.
Her passing is mourned by her family, but they will continue to celebrate her life. As a testament to her life of sacrifice and dedication to others, she has donated her remains to the University of Toledo Medical College.
She will be sorely missed but long remembered by her family, Vince, her husband; children, Kathy (Wilczynski) and Joe Karocki, along with grandson, Jim and his wife, Brittany, Barb (Wilczynski) and Larry Kosbab, along with grandson, Rick and his wife, Melissa, Adrienne (Wilczynski) and David Noel, Dan Wilczynski and his wife, Lisa, along with grandson, Danny, Vince Wilczynski and his wife, Jean, along with grandsons, Peter, Timothy, and Patrick, Bill Wilczynski and his wife, Martha; daughter-in-law, Jeannemarie Wilczynski and grandson, Anthony.
A Catholic Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at St. Jerome's Church in Walbridge, Ohio. A reception of family and friends will follow the mass at Lagniappe Banquet Hall, 401 North Main St., Walbridge, OH 43465.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Henrietta to St. Jerome's Church (Walbridge, Ohio), or Otterbein Portage Valley (Pemberville, Ohio), or the Sisters of St. Francis (Tiffin, Ohio).
