Groton - James "Jimmie" Richard Edwards, 71, beloved husband of Ramona (Ricci) Edwards, of 22 Broad St., Groton, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital.

He was born in New London, the son of the late Jack and Catherine (Khouge) Edwards. He attended Sacred Heart Church.
Jimmie was an avid custom carpenter. He was the owner of Edward's Construction Co., and built The Gingerbread School House, the Victory Lodge Of Elks, Ships Lantern of Mysic, Sneekers of Groton, and worked for many years for the Groton Motor Inn. He donated much of his time to the Groton Fleet Reserve. Jimmie loved all of his friends.
Besides his wife, he leaves to cherish his memory, a son, Scott Edwards; a brother, William Edwards; a sister, Margaret Rudker; and four granddaughters, Kristin, Tracy, Carrie, and Stephanie Edwards.
He was predeceased by a sister, Catherine Edwards, and two brothers, Joseph and Paul Edwards.
Funeral service and interment will be private.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Lester Gee Funeral Home, 108 Blinman St., New London.
