East Lyme - Jay Eliot Feldman, 55, of East Lyme, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London.

He was born in Las Cruces, N.M., on April 10, 1957, the son of Seibert and Louise (Isaacson) Feldman. He was the husband of Tracy (Ware) Feldman of East Lyme. Jay was employed as a manufacturer's representative.
Mr. Feldman was very active in New London music, and promoted local musicians including his son Noah. He was very active as a troop leader for Boy Scout Troop 7 in East Lyme. He was well known for his love of good food.
He is survived by his wife, Tracy Feldman, of East Lyme; sons Noah and Abraham; and daughter, Eva, all at home; brothers, Dan Feldman of Colchester, Andrew Feldman of Waterford, and David Feldman of Harrisburg, Pa. He is also survived by his mother, Louise Feldman-Baskey and her husband, Francis, of Madison and New Mexico.
The funeral service will be conducted at 9 a.m. today, Friday, Dec. 7, in Temple Emanu-El, Dayton Road, Waterford, followed by interment in Hebrew Benevolent Cemetery in Preston.
A memorial fund is being established for the benefit of his children's education.
