The Guest Book is expired.
Born in Bronx, N.Y. on Jan. 17, 1930, she was the only child of the late Jack and Johanna (Herel) Harris. She was the beloved wife of 29 years to the late Richard Endrich. Mrs. Endrich was a devoted Kindergarten teacher for 35 years at the Goodwin School in Old Saybrook. She nurtured, encouraged and educated more than 1,000 boys and girls in her long and fulfilling career. "Jody" loved to travel in her free time and was always ready for an adventure.
Her love of nature, walking and swimming always gave her an opportunity to share a new story with her family and friends. She was an active member of the Sweet Adelines, Valley Shore Chapter, and she always carried a song in her heart. Following retirement, she remained active as a volunteer with public schools in Florida, where she had a retirement home.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Mae Nelson of Mystic and Evelyn Sage and husband, Walter, of Ledyard. She leaves her companion of 20 years, Richard Feld of Groton. She also leaves her nieces and nephews, Walter Sage of Warwick, R.I., Cindy Raymond of York, Maine, Linda Nelson of Stonington, Maine and David Nelson of Mystic.
Family and friends may visit from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, May 21, at the Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Road, Old Saybrook, with funeral services starting at noon. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetary.
