Josephine A. Dell'Erba Obituary
New London - Josephine A. (Diana) Dell'Erba, 92, of Oakdale, born on Feb. 27, 1920, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to the late Joseph and Clara (Carlo) Diana, passed away at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital on Dec. 16, 2012. Josephine attended school in Pittsburgh, and retired in 1976 from Sheffield Tube Co., New London.

She married Richard A. Dell'Erba at St. Joseph's Church in New London, on Sept. 5, 1945. He predeceased her on Nov. 16, 1969.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Nicholas Diana and sisters, Elizabeth Villela, Kay Sassano, Margaret Milazzo, and Antoinette Bosjanik.

She is survived by her brothers, Philip and Anthony Diana of Pittsburgh; her sister, Mary Theresa Baker of West Virginia; her son, Richard C. Dell'Erba of Keene, N.H.; daughters, Diana and Robert J. Smith Sr. of Plainfield and Cheryl and Kelly Parsons of Lyme; her grandchildren, Peter and Angela Dell'Erba of Ocean Park, Maine, Jonathan Dell'Erba of Las Vegas, Nev., Michael Dell'Erba of Oakdale, Robert and Joanne Smith of Kingston, N.H., Karin Smith of East Haven, Stephanie and Elizabeth Parsons of Lyme; her great-grandchildren, Rachel, Abby, and Sarah Dell'Erba and Abby and Sophie Smith; her special niece, Phyllis Diana of Boca Raton, Fla.; and special friends, Edward Peabody of Oakdale, Lillian Parsons of Colchester, and Laura Allen of North Swanzey, N.H.

Her family would like to express gratitude to the staff at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, especially the staff on 5.4 and CCU, and Dr. Milstein for their wonderful and compassionate care of our mother and grandmother during her recent illness. We appreciate the care given to her by CCCI and Masonicare and, in particular, Kristen. We also would like to thank Dr. Terrance Doherty for his care over the past years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at Christ the King Church, 1 McCurdy Road, Old Lyme. A reception will follow in the church hall.
