Waterford - Josephine Montesi, 87, formerly of Waterford, entered eternal life on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012.

She was born Apri1 27,1925, in New London, the daughter of the late Carmello and Marianna (Barrosa) Dipollina. She attended local schools and graduated from the former Chapman Technical High School. She was united in marriage to Primo Montesi on June 7, 1947 in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Mr. Montesi died May 25, 1983. She was employed for many years for Dr. Behringer's New London office. Mrs. Montesi was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and a member of Feast of the Assumption Committee.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda Montesi of New London, Joni Montesi of Waterford, Mari-Lynn Hankinson of N.J. Three siblings, John Dipollina of New London, Angelo Dipollina of Quaker Hill and Bonita McCormick of Niantic. Six grandchildren, Jessica Santiago, Ryan Mortimer, Taylor and Caitlin Noel, Dylan and Zachary Hankinson; and a great-granddaughter, Vivica Santiago.
She was predeceased by her second husband, Stanley Elton and three siblings, Rose Montesi, Mary Ogborne and Dominic Dipollina.
Her family will receive relatives and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. Family and friends are asked to gather at 10 a.m. Monday, for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church, 17 Squire St. New London. Interment in West Neck Cemetery, Waterford.
