Boynton Beach, Fla. - Kenneth R. Roderick, third generation Stonington fisherman, peacefully passed away Friday, June 15, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born May 22, 1938, the son of Frank G. "Samuel" and Helen (Card) Roderick. Kenneth was raised in Stonington Village. After completing school, he joined the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. After the war, Kenneth returned to Stonington and began his fishing career with his father, uncles, brothers and cousins. He became owner and captain of the fishing dragger "Mary and Gloria". He later worked at Electric Boat before retiring to Boynton Beach.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife Donna. He leaves two daughters, Brenda Wharton, and Rhonda Roderick; four step-children, Mike, Craig, Danny, and Tammy Sheeler; eleven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He is survived by one brother, Ronald Roderick; two sisters, Helen Hindle and Toni Remor; and his aunt, Anne Suminski.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, Frank, and Craig Roderick; and many other friends and family dear to him.

He will be sadly missed.
